Paranormal weekend Oct. 18-20 at Superstition Mountain Museum

Superstition Mountain Museum, along with TGAPtv and the Arizona Paranormal Investigation and Research Society are hosting a paranormal weekend — “Spookypalooza” — Oct. 18-20.

The museum, a nonprofit facility organized and run by the Superstition Mountain Historical Society, is at 4087 E. Apache Trail (State Route 88) in Apache Junction. Go to https://superstitionmountainlostdutchmanmuseum.org/ or call 480-983-4888.

Special events include:

  • Sky watches: Explore the mysteries of UFOs, UAPs, Bigfoot, Star People and other unexplained phenomena with paranormal researchers and enthusiasts at Sky Watches at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Jeff Grunow of TGAPtv will host talks and feature high-powered night vision on a projection screen to view and identify unexplained moving “stars” seen with the naked eye. There will be equipment demonstrations along with recent video and photos shown. You’ll learn how to debunk most of what is seen and question that which is unexplainable. Cost is $20 per person each night.
  • Free paranormal days: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20, enjoy guest speakers, authors, psychics, paranormal teams and workshops. A variety of vendors and artisans will be offering stones, crystals, jewelry, tarot, Anime, special creations and more. There will be free lectures in the Elvis Memorial Chapel beginning at 11 a.m. Topics include: EVPs & Life after Life: The Correlation; Dowsing for Spirits; Vulture City Ghost Town; Psychic Workshop with Arielle Sterling; and Sounds of the Dead: Staticom Method.
  • Ghost walks: 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, there will be two ghost tours available for everyone in the family to enjoy and learn about local haunted history. See what evidence has been collected and go on a ghostly adventure. Cost is $10 per person (limit 20); and kids under 10 are free when accompanied by an adult.
  • Ghost hunt: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, special detection equipment will be used to seek out spirits from the other side. Guides will enlighten participants about local history and events that may account for spooky encounters. The tour and investigation is for entertainment purposes only. The information provided is accurate as provided by local historians. There is no guarantee there will be paranormal activity. Cost is $40 per person (limit 20); and kids under 14 are not permitted.

There are vendor opportunities 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20. The museum will offer lectures, vendor booths and demonstrations by practitioners involved with metaphysical and the healing-arts.
