Authorities capture escaped Florence prison inmate

The escape of an inmate from the Eyman Arizona State Prison Complex had Florence Police and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office on alert this weekend.

The prisoner was reported missing on the morning of Aug. 10.  The inmate was quickly apprehended by PCSO, according to a post on the Florence Police Department’s Facebook page.

“A police perimeter was immediately set up to isolate the inmate’s travel to a remote area and protect the citizens of Florence,” the post continued. “The inmate was taken into custody without incident in an abandoned building several miles east of Highway 79.”
