The Smith Road Improvements Project begins work on the south segment from University Drive to Apache Boulevard.

Construction on Smith Road is expected to run from April 29 through the end of the year, with work beginning on the segment from University Drive to Apache Boulevard.
Smith Road is getting a refresh, a city release stated. Expect to see work being done in the coming months on the following improvements:
new curbs and gutters,
bike lane treatments (some sections of protected bike lanes),
traffic calming measures to include medians,
landscaping and irrigation,
improving sidewalk ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities standards, and
