Construction begins on first phase of $1.8B mixed-use development in Tempe

Construction has launched on Lot 6 also known as Shorehaven, the first phase of the $1.8 billion mixed-use South Pier master-planned development on the southern shore of Tempe Town Lake

Located at 1306 East Vista Del Lago Drive, the development will feature entertainment, dining, shopping, hotel, residential and office space, a press release explained.

Shorehaven will consist of 724 multifamily units and approximately 26,000 square feet of ground level retail space within three high-rise towers ranging from 21 to 23 stories tall. The 1.3-million-gross-square-foot mixed-use project will also include 850 below-grade parking spaces, over 20,000 square feet of indoor amenity space and 30,000 square feet of outdoor amenity space.

The amenities at Shorehaven include three state-of-the-art fitness centers, a coworking lounge, a game room, an outdoor BBQ terrace, a dog run, a pool and a landscaped outdoor terrace overlooking the lake.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Brent Mallonee, executive director, has been hired to lead retail leasing efforts for Shorehaven, according to the release.

“A waterfront location surrounded by a scenic desert landscape and mountainous views, Shorehaven will be a special retail destination like nothing before seen in Tempe,” Mallonee stated in the release.

The project’s retail element looks to comprise a variety of food, beverage and dining offerings including waterfront, patio and other culinary settings together with large and small boutique shopping spaces, plus entertainment and amenity space.

According to the project’s website, “South Pier will deliver a world-class waterfront experience unlike any other in the world: A truly original desert destination to inspire the imagination and provide a cherished place to experience the wonders of life in the Phoenix Valley.”
