Sun City West Tennis Club celebrates 45th anniversary

The Sun City West Tennis Club celebrates its 45th anniversary this year.
When the club began in 1990 there was team of eight ladies who represented the West Valley in the USTA Love 50 Regional Tennis Tournament at Gainey Ranch, Scottsdale. This nationwide tournament is for women over age 50.
The Sun City West team went undefeated and beat the Western Reserve team from Tempe to gain a spot in the Love 50 National Finals in Las Vegas. More than 400 women from the states of Indiana, Oregon, Hawaii, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington and Arizona competed in the finals.
The Sun City West ladies were the only 100% retiree team in the National Tournament.
