“What’s In Project 2025,” an in-depth look at the contents of Project 2025, will be offered 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 28, at The Church of the Palms, 14808 N. Boswell Blvd. Registration is required and space is limited. The class is open to the public and church members must be pre-registered.

“Project 2025” is the Heritage Foundation’s document that follows Christian nationalism ideology/strategy and is the platform the Republican party has issued as its “Manifest Leadership” (document presented to every Republican president since 1981).

Kay Klinkenborg will present a brief history of how Project 2025 came to be and share the stated 14 core elements of government changes, elimination of departments, loss of liberties for United States citizens, etc. The class will have a break with refreshments and a Q & A to follow the presentation.

Klinkenborg is a member of Church of the Palms and retired to Arizona in 2018. She has facilitated numerous classes on social justice issues: white supremacy, white privilege, North American indigenous genocide, anti-racism, implicit bias, “othering” used as marginalization of Black, Indigenous and People of Color, caste systems, doctrine of discovery and imperial colonialism and more.

Since fall of 2023 she has been presenting “White Christian Nationalism & Project 2025” to a variety of organizations. Her presentation on Project 2025 was given for The Secular Coalition of AZ in August (it was taped and it is on their YouTube channel) and in September for Casa Grande Democratic Club.

A spiritual director and member of Spiritual Directors International, author and poet, Klinkenborg continues her passion for adult education. She is a retired registered nurse, licensed marriage and family therapist and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She was adjunct-faculty for University of Illinois-Springfield prior to retirement. She resides in Sun City with her husband Max Klinkenborg.

Call 623-977-8359 to register, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Deadline is 1 p.m. Sept. 26. Walk-ins for the class will not be admitted.
