Seniors share stories of fraud to help each other

Neighborcare provides information to keep residents safe

Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 W. Meeker Blvd., offers several community events throughout the year to bring people together and provide support. During an Aug. 20 presentation, Dan Pressler and Linda Evans, from Neighborcare, shared information on fraud protection and the tactics used to defraud seniors.

While Pressler said scams are difficult to avoid, neighbors looking out for each other is one key way to eliminate more victims.

“Everyone knows about fraud and some of our clients became victims. At that time I thought we really needed to start a program. The statistics are terrible and the only thing we can do as neighbors is work together to combat some of this,” stated Pressler.
