Woman arrested in connection with stabbing in El Mirage
Posted
A woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in El Mirage.
The incident occurred Sunday night near Thunderbird and El Mirage roads.
The El Mirage Police Department said its officers found a man with a stab wound to the abdomen area and some type of injury to his head. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
El Mirage police said they arrested Isabel Soto Hernandez, 48, and booked her into the Fourth Avenue Jail Monday on aggravated assault charges.
El Mirage police said they are still investigating to establish a motive behind the stabbing.
According to court documents, an argument had ensued between the man and Ms. Hernandez, during which Ms. Hernandez allegedly punched the victim in the abdomen area. Ms. Hernandez then pushed the man against a trampoline and the man pleaded for her to stop. She then fled after an apparent stabbing.
Responding officers followed a trail of blood to a residence and found Ms. Hernandez taking a shower.
After her arrest, Ms. Hernandez became angry with some of the questions and requested a lawyer.
