WM Phoenix Open is in full swing in Scottsdale

Motorists should expect heavier-than-normal traffic

Known as “The Greatest Show on Grass,” the WM Phoenix Open hosted at TPC Scottsdale is one of the PGA Tour’s most exciting stops.

Feb. 7-13, a field of 132 players vie for an $8.2 million purse, a $1.5 million first-place check and 500 FedExCup points.

The event has gained legendary status for combining great golf, great weather and a festive atmosphere, unlike any other tournament.

In late January, officials announced that the event would be renamed WM Phoenix Open after Waste Management went through a rebrand.

Scottsdale drivers should plan for heavier-than-normal traffic on the Loop 101 Pima Freeway this week.

Tournament-related traffic will increase during the morning and late afternoon hours Wednesday through Sunday.

Get parking information and directions here.

Nearby off-site parking and a rideshare lot will be available at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road. Parking and a shuttle service also are available at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick near Loop 101 and Talking Stick Way.

Statewide real-time highway condition information is available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov or by calling 511.

WM is now in its 13th year as title sponsor of the Phoenix Open. Over the first 12 years, WM and the tournament-host Thunderbirds have turned the largest-attended PGA TOUR stop into the most sustainability-minded sporting event in the world.

Since 2010 when WM became title sponsor, the tournament has raised nearly $100 million for local charities, including $3.8 million from the 2021 tournament.
