The city of Avondale's Water Distribution Department will be conducting essential utility work on Avondale Blvd., necessitating a temporary road closure.

The city reports that the northbound lanes of Avondale Blvd. at McDowell Road will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, to 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. During this period, access to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Emergency–Avondale Campus, 1665 N. Avondale Blvd., will remain available through both the south and north entrances.

The road closure is required to facilitate important utility maintenance and improvements.

Residents should plan their routes accordingly.
