A man was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in north Peoria Tuesday morning, according to police.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Deer Valley Road and Hillcrest Boulevard west of 75th Avenue.

At about 8:30 a.m., the Peoria Police Department responded to a call of an accident involving a bicycle and a vehicle.

A 70-year-old man was riding his bicycle when a vehicle struck him near the intersection.

A police spokesperson said the man may have broken one of his arms. However, the man was alert and walking around at the scene.

The Peoria Fire-Medical Department transported him to a Valley hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries for further treatment.
