Valley View Community Food Bank announced its annual Thanksgiving turkey distribution event, taking place Monday, Nov. 20, through Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 10771 W. Peoria Ave.

This year, Valley View Community Food Bank aims to provide more than 3,500 Thanksgiving turkeys and holiday food boxes to feed more than 17,000 people in need. The distribution process will commence on Monday and Tuesday for those who have already received tickets, while on Wednesday remaining turkeys and food boxes will be distributed with no ticket needed.

The food bank will be collecting turkey and food donations from the community through 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17.

“Our mission at Valley View Community Food Bank is to serve those in need with compassion and respect while providing the resources for wholesome, nutritious food,” said Amy Tekulve, Director of Marketing at Valley View Community Food Bank. “As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families facing food insecurity.”
