INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
An 18-year-old man was shot and killed after an altercation at a house party early Sunday morning in Gilbert, police said.
The teen, who has not been identified, was found by Gilbert police at about 12:05 a.m. June 18 after they arrived at the home in the 100 block of West Monroe Avenue.
He had been shot in the chest and upper torso, said police officers who began lifesaving measures. The man was taken to a hospital where he died, according to officials.
Police said it was an isolated incident that occurred during a “small house party” in the backyard of the home.
No suspect information was released with the police department's initial statement.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Gilbert Police Department at 480-503-6500.
