Gold Canyon Community Inc. has partnered with Pinal County and Arizona State University to develop a community plan.
The first element for the development of the plan is a community-wide survey that will be administered by the county to get more feedback from the community.
“We need your help. A survey has been developed with the help of ASU, other community groups, Pinal County and the local Gold Canyon Business Association. The survey results will be integrated into an ASU School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning case study as part of the urban land-use planning course led by faculties from the ASU Knowledge Exchange for Resilience. ASU’s in-depth study will result in the Gold Canyon community plan,” according to a release.
“ASU’s case study will result in a Gold Canyon community plan which aligns with the community stakeholders — Gold Canyon residents and businesses. The plan will include important elements including a vision that will help shape the future of Gold Canyon and will be incorporated into the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan,” the release states. “The success of the development of this community plan will be accomplished through your strong and active community involvement throughout the process.”
There will be a community meeting in early October to launch the survey and to explain, in detail, the process going forward. This will be the first in a series of community meetings in the process of developing a Gold Canyon community plan.
“When you get the Gold Canyon community plan survey please complete it as soon as possible and alert your friends and neighbors to fill it out as well,” according to the release.
