Surprise group joins national Day of Prayer May 5

Posted

More than seventy years ago, the late Dr. Billy Graham preached from the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building with a message that that included a passionate request for Congress and the President to establish a National Day of Prayer.

In 1988, President Ronald Reagan approved an amendment from Congress that set aside the first Thursday in May as the annual National Day of Prayer.

The Surprise group invites the public to join it from 7 to 8:30 a.m., Thursday, May 5 at Statler Plaza in the Surprise Civic Center as the group exalts the Lord in prayer and worship.
