Surprise cheer team to host Pancakes with Santa, holiday market

Posted

The Imagine Prep Surprise cheer team is hosting a holiday event to help raise funds in hopes of making another trip to the national cheer competition.

Join the cheer team from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at 14850 N. 156th Ave., for Pancakes with Santa and a holiday market.

Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults and they include a photo with Santa, a pancake breakfast and entrance into the market. Tickets for those interested in only visiting the holiday market are $5.

Varsity cheer coach Phoenix Hunt shared why this event is important to her team and what it can help them achieve in the coming months.

“Pancakes with Santa is such an important event to our program because it allows our team and their families to come together and serve our community,” Hunt said. “Pancakes with Santa has been the gateway to bringing communities together to celebrate the holidays, share joy and make memories. It is an event we truly look forward to every year. Additionally, Pancakes with Santa helps support our cheer program as we journey to Nationals.”

After participating in the APS Light Parade Dec. 2, the cheer team now has their sights set on competition season and another trip to nationals.

“Our cheer team works very hard and we are so proud of them,” Hunt said. “Cheer is a very demanding sport that takes a lot of commitment. Events like Pancakes with Santa allow us to pause and create special treasured moments. It allows us to spend time as a team, with our families, build new relationships with community members and make memories that will last a lifetime. Plus we get to have pancakes, shop an amazing market of vendors and talk to Santa! What is better than that?”

Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash.
