Surprise Chamber endorses 3 Republicans for senate spots
Group backing incumbents for Arizona Legislature
Posted
The Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce, which serves the entire northwest Valley, announced its backing of three incumbent Republicans.
They include Frank Carroll (R) for State Senate, District 28; David Livingston (R) for State House, District 28; and Joanne Osborne (R) for State Senate, District 29.
“These candidates, based on their voting records, have shown themselves to be committed to Arizona’s job providers and the employees, families, and communities they serve,” said Raoul Sada, president and CEO of the chamber. “Now more than ever we need strong leaders who will work hard to address our economic challenges and advance our job growth opportunities.”
“The chamber’s endorsement hinges on each candidate’s voting record. Our scorecard holds elected officials accountable for their pro-business voting records,” said Chris Herring, government relations chairperson for the chamber.
“This scorecard evaluates the votes of each senator and representative for the entire West Valley. In addition, it represents the positions of the West Valley Chamber Alliance that were communicated to our state lawmakers throughout the Regular Session,” Herring said.
All three northwest Valley endorsed candidates received a scorecard rating of 95%-plus, based on their voting records on key bills.
“One of the most valuable and often overlooked functions of a chamber is advocating for the business community,” Sada said. “The chamber works to represent the collective voice of the business community. Whether it’s setting legislative goals, working with our lobbyist, sending out Action Alerts, or keeping voters informed through our forums, we aim to ensure an environment where business can prosper.”
The Surprise Regional Chamber serves the communities of Surprise, El Mirage, Sun City, Sun City West, Waddell, Wittmann and Youngtown.
