Superstition Fire and Medical District board to meet Dec. 16

Posted

Approving an agreement in a consent agenda for Ultimate Kronos Group cloud-based human resources software is planned at the Dec. 16 meeting of the Superstition Fire and Medical District board.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Superstition Fire and Medical District’s Administrative Office, 565 N. Idaho Road in Apache Junction.

The minimum cost of the three-year agreement with Ultimate Kronos Group is $12,960 a year for a service fee with a one-time $5,000 setup fee, according to SFMD documents.

The fire district has researched six HR software companies, and found UKG meets the district’s needs and has a competitive price point, Fire Chief Mike Farber and Administrative Services Director Anna Butel said in a memo to the board.

“By adding UKG, SFMD can streamline onboarding, promotional processes, performance reviews, hourly and salary employee tracking, and reporting, to name a few. This solution will save countless hours of staff time and aid in all phases of HR, from recruitment to hiring, managing and retaining employees,” they said in the memo.

In other business, the board is to:

  • Discuss and appoint the chair and clerk positions.
  • Review and approve the November 2020 financial reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Recognize employee performance, achievements and special recognition for community members.

The fire district provides fire suppression, fire prevention, wildland protection, advanced life support, rescue, extrication and medical transportation services out of five fire stations: Fire Station 261, 1135 W Superstition Blvd. in Apache Junction; Fire Station 262, 3955 E. Superstition Blvd. in Apache Junction; Fire Station 263, 1645 S. Idaho Road in Apache Junction; Fire Station 264, 7557 E. U.S. Highway 60 in Gold Canyon; and Fire Station 265, 9294 E. Don Donnelly Trail in Gold Canyon.
