‘Star Wars’-inspired burlesque show making its way to Phoenix

‘The Empire Strips Back’ opens Sept. 6 at Herberger

The nationally-touring “Star Wars”-inspired burlesque show is on its way to downtown Phoenix.

“The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Parody” opens its 24-show run in town with a 7:30 p.m. opening night curtain rise on Wednesday, Sept. 6 on the Center Stage at Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe St.

“Let us deliver you to the dark side,” the show’s promotional material reads. “With comedy and allure, loving detail, and hilarious parody, ‘The Empire Strips Back’ drops classic ‘Star Wars’ characters into the world of burlesque. Be prepared for some seriously sultry Stormtroopers, a dangerously enticing Boba Fett, some tantalizing Twi'leks, a delightfully luke-warm Taun Taun, a lady-like Skywalker, the Droids you are looking for, and much, much more!”

A disclaimer also notes that, as a parody production and with “Star Wars” and its characters being registered trademarks of Lucasfilm Entertainment Company Ltd or Lucasfilm Ltd., this production is not sponsored, endorsed by or affiliated with Disney, Lucasfilm Entertainment Company Ltd, Lucasfilm Ltd or any of its subsidiaries.

Tickets start at $47 are available here.

The production has an age recommendation of 18+.
