Stanley passed away peacefully at the age of 76 at home in Sun City, Arizona on November 25, 2020. Born February 17, 1944, in New York City, living his first eleven years in Teaneck, NJ during school and Cragsmoor, NY summers, then moving to West Lebanon with his Dad Chi Kai (Checky) Liang, Mom Emily Curran Liang, and Sister Grace. He was a proud member of West Lebanon Alumni, graduating from Lebanon High School.
Stan was a dedicated family man and active member of the Upper Valley community. Belonging to many organizations including Past Master Franklin Lodge F&AM, Bektash Shriners, Board of Directors Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, Past Worthy Patron Kimball Chapter Eastern Star, Lebanon Rainbow Dad, Rotary, Elks member, and Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts, starting while attending Paul Smith’s College In NY. You may know him from owning and running the Sunset Motel, his decades of work at Dartmouth Hitchcock, teaching cardiac life support programs throughout New England and beyond, including two cruises for Carnival Cruise Lines, owning and working for Lebanon Ambulance Service, W. Lebanon Call Firefighter, Lebanon Red Cross Chapter Chairman, 40 plus years of Fireworks shows, attending one of his world-famous Beef & Beer Memorial Day parties, extravagant Halloweens or his well maintained neighborhood ice skating rink.
In 2013, moving to Sun City, AZ, he became an active member of that community. Playing golf, walking in the pool, Leathercraft, Woodworking, Ham Radio, Masons, Players, and enjoying the warmth and sunshine where he continued with many other social activities including his beef and beer parties.
He was predeceased by his Dad, Mom, and brother Arthur. Stan is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda, his children Lewis (Shasti), Robert (Jennifer), and Laura (C.C. Chapman), and grandchildren Scott, Kiersten, Reilly, Sarah, Keegan, Dylan, Luana, Emily, Braelyn, and Kailah.
