St. Vincent de Paul will serve Christmas meals in Phoenix, Mesa

Posted

St. Vincent de Paul will serve more hot Christmas meals than ever before at its Valley charity dining rooms.

Since nearly doubling its daily meal count this past year, the nonprofit will serve more than 7,000 meals to individuals experiencing homelessness and low-income families across the Valley on Dec. 25.

Guests will enjoy roast turkey with gravy, rosemary red potatoes, garlic green beans, a Hawaiian roll on the side, and pumpkin pie for dessert.

“We are serving more meals than ever before but that still won’t stop us from lifting the spirits of those who walk through our doors on Christmas day,” Associate Chief Operations Officer Danielle McMahon shared in a press release. “Our kitchen’s devotion to serve a special holiday meal with love is what makes everything possible.”

If you or someone you know needs a Christmas meal, all are welcome.

Christmas Meal Service on Monday, Dec. 25:

  • 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m.: Phoenix Dining Room, 1075 W. Jackson St. This dining room’s meal service will host the Champions for the Homeless Christmas event with former NFL great Nick Lowery and volunteers, including NFL footballers serving meals. There will be live music, gift certificates, clothing, and more.
  • 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Mesa Dining Room, 67 W. Broadway Road.
  • 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Sunnyslope Dining Room, 9227 N. 10th Ave., Phoenix.

St. Vincent de Paul provided 3.25 million meals last year through its five charity dining rooms, and more than 154,700 food boxes to individuals and families in need through its 80+ neighborhood food pantries.

Residents interested in helping St. Vincent de Paul throughout the holiday season are encouraged to volunteer, especially in the days following Christmas.
