Employers looking to tap into the potential of Arizona's veteran workforce can meet 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at HonorHealth Military Partnership, 7301 E. 4th St., Suite 7, for an opportunity to network, gain insights and boost Arizona’s labor force.
"We’re excited to bring employers this opportunity to unlock the potential of skilled veteran hiring," said Michelle Pabis, Scottsdale Chamber Board Chair. "By leveraging the SkillBridge Program, employers can benefit from access to highly skilled personnel, while also supporting veterans as they transition into the civilian workforce.”
The SkillBridge Program is committed to helping employers leverage the potential that veteran employees bring to the table. This initiative of the Department of Defense, in association with the Arizona Coalition for Military Families, allows service members within six months of separation to intern, apprentice or certify with approved civilian employers while still receiving full military pay and benefits. The Arizona Coalition of Military Families provides a dedicated coordinator and a memorandum of understanding between active-duty military installations and state entities.
"We're thrilled to introduce the 'Veteran Hiring Success' event, showcasing our commitment to empowering veterans and businesses alike," said Erika Acorn, Scottsdale Chamber Membership Director and Staff Liaison to the VMAC Committee. "This initiative embodies our dedication to creating impactful connections that enrich both our workforce and community."
