Skate the night away Sept. 9 at Mesa event

The Plaza at Mesa City Center will be the place to be Saturday evening Sept. 9 for a skate party.

There will be skating demostrations and safety information presented by Arizona Rollergirls during the event, 6-9 p.m. at the plaza, 56 E. Main St. ZoniGirls will provide skate rentals, according to a release.

In addition, "The Trolls" will be shown on a large screen at the ASU MIX center. The movie begins at 7 p.m.  Bring lawn chair and blankets.

City officials thank Phoenix Children's for donating helmets and gear for children attending. Free helmets and safety equipment will be provided on a first come, first served basis, the release said.
