Scottsdale Fashion Square hosts holiday happenings

With renovations nearly complete throughout the shopping center’s south wing, Scottsdale Fashion Square, 7014 E. Camelback Road, is hosting a festive blend of gifting, giving back and holiday cheer, with family-friendly events, photo opportunities with Santa and numerous charitable giving opportunities between Nov. 17 and Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24.

Those who pre-book a visit to Santa’s Winter Wonderland will receive a free personalized call from Santa before their visit, as well as a free personalized video afterward, both powered by the Portable North Pole. Visit fashionsquare.com/SantaPhotos.

During a Santa Cares Sensory-Friendly Event 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, families will find a compassionate and supportive environment with limited scheduling to lessen crowds and wait times, reduced music and comfortable lighting. Additionally, guests can donate to Autism Speaks at the checkout by “keeping the change” or adding $1, $3, $5 or $10 to their photo package purchase.

Four-legged family members can get in on the festivities, too, when their humans book a spot for Santa Paws Photos, available 4-7 p.m. Nov. 20, Nov. 27 and Dec. 4.

Holiday Meet and Greets, which will take place in the Palm Court, are free with a receipt showing proof of a Santa Claus photo package. The special lineup includes a Go Green with the Grinch event 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, and the Frozen Sisters & Olaf will make an appearance 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.

Shoppers can extend the spirit of giving in the local community by answering angel wishes. Scottsdale Fashion Square is once again teaming up with the Salvation Army to host the Angel Tree program, which runs through Dec. 21. Shoppers can pick up wish list tags and drop off new, unwrapped gifts 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

Scottsdale Fashion Square’s annual Shop It Forward program is also underway, allowing shoppers to double down on their giving by benefiting local nonprofit organizations with receipts from their purchases at the shopping center. Every purchase made at Scottsdale Fashion Square through Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, is eligible for five points per $1 spent. Bonus points are available for select retail categories and families visiting Santa can earn triple points on any photo package purchase through Dec. 24. Complete details, including timing for bonus periods, instructions for logging receipts and options to select a nonprofit can be found at fashionsquare.com/shopitforward.

Additionally, there will be live musical performances by Sam Nelson & Stone in the Crystal Court 3-6 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25, and Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Phoenix Music Teachers' Association hosts their annual concert 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in the east wing, in front of Lucid. Then, from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, the east wing will again be filled with the sounds of young performers from Hovland Conservatory of Music, a nonprofit music school specializing in piano and violin lessons for children and teens.
