Scottsdale-based Hospice helps patient with bucket list meal wish

Posted

Ascension Hospice, a Scottsdale-based hospice company at 6263 N. Scottsdale Road, suite 138, recently made a unique bucket list wish of one of their patients come true.

The last wish of Wadsworth Lowell Bishop, 69, was to attend a steak dinner with family and friends. Hospice Social Worker Trisha Zaun made this wish into reality Nov. 9. Bishop received a steak dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House with five family members in attendance as well as many members of his Ascension Hospice Care Team.

Bishop, known to his friends as “Lowell,” was born and raised in New Jersey and worked as an electrical engineer for many years. He enjoyed traveling the world and playing music. Bishop joined Ascension Hospice to begin receiving end-of-life care in July 2023.

“We love going above and beyond for our patients,” said Chip Beard, Director of Administration at Ascension Hospice. “We are proud to provide unique experiences to bring our patients and their families joy and peace.”

Beard attended Bishop’s dinner with six of his colleagues from Ascension.

Ascension Hospice was created in 2022 by a leadership team of experienced hospice administrators with a vision to service others.
