Scottsdale-based DunRite donates food, hygiene products to Harvest Compassion Center

Posted

After more than 20 years of serving the Phoenix metro area, Scottsdale-based DunRite Windows & Doors opened a second location Jan. 13 in Phoenix. They celebrated the retail showroom with a grand-opening event that featured product demonstrations, music, pizza and giveaways. The event also wrapped up a month-long food drive for Harvest Compassion Center, collecting more than 1,000 pounds of food and hygiene products for the nonprofit.

The new 6,000-square-foot warehouse and showroom features more than 50 products on display from brands such as Anderson, Pella, Anlin, Milgard, Thermatru, Provia and Arcadia. The showroom, located at 4626 E. Thunderbird Road, suite 105, is designed to give customers a chance to see products up close and explore their options for home windows and door replacements.

DunRite is an authorized dealer for multiple brands of replacement windows, with multiple members of their installation teams carrying the Installation Master certification. When combined with their decades of expertise, the deep training in these programs ensures DunRite can provide a high level of workmanship, and compliance with rigid warranty requirements.

Sal Sucato, DunRite’s owner, said the event exceeded his expectations.

“We received so much positive feedback, and we appreciated the opportunity to educate guests regarding their options when it comes to replacing their windows and doors,” Sucato said. “We’re also very grateful to everyone who donated items to Harvest Compassion Center. We’ve always been community-minded, and it was rewarding to see so many people join us in our efforts to support families in need.”

Harvest Compassion Center is a 501(c)3 organization that provides food and clothing in a hope-filled environment to the underserved in the greater Phoenix area. Lori Schweighardt, the nonprofit’s director of outreach, said January is always a challenging month since the nonprofit’s inventory is low after the holidays.

"Harvest Compassion Center served over 80,000 individuals in 2023, a record number from years past. We want the community to know that every can of food that is donated to our centers makes an impact for a family experiencing food insecurity. We are grateful to DunRite Windows & Doors for helping us feed families in Phoenix this winter," said Schweighardt.

Sucato started DunRite Windows & Doors in 2001 in a spare bedroom and learned the business from the ground up. He cultivated a talented, ethical team, including his wife Tyler, and the firm’s growth exploded. The firm also owns a small building in North Scottsdale for their corporate headquarters.

DunRite has been the recipient of 10 consecutive Angi Super Service Awards and the firm was a BBB Torch Awards Finalist in 2021. They’ve also won a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite for two years in a row, along with other assorted awards.
