In addition to everything the Sun City West Foundation does for the community, it has also once again sponsored the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of the Sun Cities for the 12th year.
The kickoff began with committee members climbing into a giant purple Relay for Life chair, and now they are looking for survivors, sponsors and teams to participate in the Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, event in Sun City West’s Beardsley Park.
There are other ways to also support this cause. A benefit concert featuring Senior Moments is Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Sun City West Foundation, Bowling for Cancer will take place Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Lakeview Lanes in Sun City and the Grand Softball Club will hold its annual Relay fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 3.
Information on all events can be found at relayforlife.org/suncitiesaz. Individuals can also sign up for the event as a survivor, participant or team, make a donation, purchase a luminaria to honor someone who has lost, won or is fighting cancer and find out information about the event.
