Recycling going to the dogs in Florence

If your kitchen drawers or cabinets are packed with plastic shopping bags, the town of Florence is offering a way to recycle them for a good cause.

The town has set up a new recycling bin for used plastic bags. It’s located in the lobby of the Florence Community Center, 778 N. Main St.

The bags will be donated to the Central Bark Park, so dog owners can clean up after their pets’ messes. Make sure that the bags are clean and free of holes before recycling them.

Central Bark Park is located at the Little League Park at 200 E. Eighth St.  Amenities include a ball field, picnic tables, restrooms, benches, a water fountain and separate areas for large and small dogs.

The Central Bark Park was the first dog park in Pinal County when it opened in 2007.
