Rangers, Royals hosting reception in Surprise to start season

Mayor’s event is official beginning of spring training

The city of Surprise in collaboration with the Kansas City Royals and the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers prepares to unveil the 2024 spring training experience at the 22nd Annual Mayor’s Welcome Back Reception.

Presented by Dental Depot, this year’s happy-hour-themed event is from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Surprise Stadium, 15850 N. Bullard Ave.

It will include hors d’oeuvres provided by Barrio Queen, a special commemorative gift and a fun atmosphere to network.

Representatives from the city, Royals and Rangers will be in attendance to share a behind-the-scenes look at the spring training preparation process.

Admission is $30 per person, and seating is limited.

Tickets are now available for purchase at SurpriseStadium.com or by calling the box office at 623-222-2222.

The spring season begins at Surprise Stadium on Feb. 23 when the Rangers and Royals face off.
