Portillo’s in Queen Creek is hiring
Location is set to open this year
Posted
Portillo’s, the popular Chicago-style hot dog chain, plans to open a location in Queen Creek later this year and it has started hiring employees.
The restaurant is hiring for all shifts and positions from cooks and cashiers to general manager. Depending on the position, the average national salary for Portillo’s runs from $37,000 to $97,000.
The company states that benefits for hourly employees include competitive pay starting at $16 an hour, an additional $3 an hour for holiday work, career advancement opportunities and flexible schedules.
Full-time employees get medical, dental and vision benefits, a 401(k) with company match and paid vacation. Extra benefits for managers include a bonus program.
The Queen Creek Portillo’s will be located on the southeast corner of Ellsworth and East Walnut roads at 20745 E. Walnut Road.
The 7,800 square-foot eatery will be designed in a Southwest garage theme. It will have seating for 180 guests inside, as well as an outdoor patio with room for about 50 more people. In addition, it will have a double lane drive-thru.
The Queen Creek location will be Portillo’s sixth in the Valley and seventh in the state. Portillo’s can also be found in Avondale, Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe and Tucson.
Portillo’s specializes in Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef and pepper sandwiches. The chain was founded in 1963 by Dick Portillo as a small trailer in Villa Park, Illinois. There are now 70 Portillo’s in several states.
