The Scottsdale Police Department has announced the arrest of three additional individuals as the ongoing investigation into the downtown Scottsdale riots of May 30 continues, officials say.
Aaron Medina, a 28-year-old male and Valley resident, was arrested for felony flight, failing to stop for a police officer, reckless driving, endangerment, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and unlawful assembly.
Mr. Medina drove his Honda Civic through the intersection of Scottsdale and Camelback several times, taunting officers, and failing their orders to stop, police officials say.
Mr. Medina later fled from officers down a closed street in the wrong direction.
Valley resident, Robert Joseph Rocha, 18, was arrested for burglary, trafficking stolen property, and theft.
Eric Michael Robles, a 22-year-old male and Valley resident, was arrested for trafficking stolen property and possession of stolen property. Stolen merchandise was recovered during the investigation, according to police.
This brings the total number of arrests to 47 for crimes committed during the May 30 civil unrest. The investigation is ongoing.
“We are continuing to actively follow up on evidence, tips and information in a commitment to bring those responsible for criminal acts to justice. We will continue to provide updates as they become available,” Public Information Office Sgt. Ben Hoster said in a press release.
