Phoenix Police identify victim in fatal 3-car crash

Posted

Amer Ibrahim, 52, died following a three-car collision July 20 near 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, Phoenix police said Monday.

An investigation in the crash is continuing.

In an earlier release, police stated speed appears to be a factor in the collision that occurred about 9:15 p.m.

Preliminary information suggests that a vehicle traveling west on Bethany Home Road collided with another vehicle after the second vehicle made a westbound turn onto Bethany Home Road from 19th Avenue.

Both vehicles “were displaced into oncoming traffic, causing a second collision with a third vehicle traveling eastbound on Bethany Home Road,” the release stated.

Ibrahim was the driver of the third vehicle.

The man driving one of the vehicles and the woman driving the other had serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. Another adult from the collision was released from a hospital after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Charging decisions will be made once the accident reconstruction process is complete, police said.
