Nourish Phoenix celebrating its 40th anniversary with Beyond the Pantry

Posted

Nourish Phoenix, a nonprofit food and clothing bank, is hosting a Beyond the Pantry breakfast fundraiser to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The annual event goes from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Anderson Hall at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 4715 N. Central Ave., to honor clients, celebrate volunteers, and raise money for the new year.

The in-person and virtual event will feature client testimonies, guest speakers, catered breakfast from the Crepe Bar, and a cooking demonstration from Chef Tee Williams demonstrating how to make a gourmet meal using the contents from a food box.

NourishPHX’s goal is to raise $100,000 funds to support 17,000 families that the nonprofit serves, a 55% increase from the previous year. The money raised during this event will help provide nearly 4 million pounds of food, clothing, hygiene, critical workforce development programming and a variety of classes/workshops for Phoenix residents in need.

This year, NourishPHX has more than 2,275 volunteers donating their time to support the organization, which totals $737,130 worth of time.

Event sponsors include Western Alliance Bank, Rob Walton Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, LAVIDGE, United Healthcare, Snell & Wilmer, Desert Diamond Casino, and Bill & Anne Hemelt.

Those unable to attend in person have an option to tune into a live stream and participate virtually.
