Peoria City Manager Jeff Tyne has selected Lori Dyckman as the new Peoria City Clerk.
Dyckman has been serving as the acting city clerk for the last six months following the retirement of former City Clerk Rhonda Germinsky, who retired in December 2021.
In this position, she will oversee the operations of the City Clerk’s Office in their efforts to provide transparency and public access through compliance with open meeting laws, public records laws and elections laws.
“Our city clerk is called upon daily to provide various services as well as important information to city leadership and the public,” Tyne stated in a news release. “This role is critical to a well-functioning and accessible local government, and I am pleased to have Ms. Dyckman serving in this capacity.”
Dyckman began her 15-year career with Peoria in the Information Technology Department, developing programs and systems for the City Clerk’s Office. Her strong technical knowledge of the City Clerk’s Office allowed her to transition into the deputy city clerk position in 2019, according to the release. In her time as deputy city clerk, Dyckman led the overhaul of the board and commission application and appointment process, administrated four elections, and streamlined the public records request process.
As city clerk, she will continue to ensure the delivery of all traditional functions of a city clerk, including elections administration, public records requests, and records management, officials said.
Currently, Dyckman serves on the Arizona Municipal Clerk’s Association’s records committee. She is a certified municipal clerk, an Arizona certified election officer and certified municipal election official. Dyckman holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management from Grand Canyon University.
Outside the office, Dyckman enjoys spending time with her family, watching NASCAR, traveling and boating.
“I’m honored to continue my work at the city of Peoria as the Peoria City Clerk and I’m grateful for this incredible opportunity,” Dyckman said.
