Peoria police arrested a man after he drove into a home Thursday afternoon, according to a release.

On March 9 at about 3:45 p.m., the Peoria Police and Peoria Fire-Medical departments responded to a vehicle that had left the roadway and crashed into a home in the 8200 block of West Sweetwater Avenue.

The driver of the truck initially told police he was turning eastbound onto Sweetwater Avenue from 83rd Avenue when another vehicle turned in front of him, causing him to fish tail.

The vehicle cross over the westbound lane into the front yard of a home and continued through the house's garage before striking a parked vehicle in the driveway, according to police. The driver continued past the garage and came to a rest in a neighbor’s yard after damaging a significant amount of landscaping.

The homeowners of both residences were present when the crash occurred. No one was injured.

Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police identified the man as Shane Rock, 37, of Peoria.

Rock was processed at the Peoria Police Department and faces charges for DUI.

The case is still active and there may be amendments or additions to any charges.
