Peoria Police have arrested a Glendale man on suspicion of multiple robberies, a news release states.

Detectives, with the assistance of Peoria SWAT, arrested 28-year-old Dominic Gonzalez on several counts of robbery at about 8:45 a.m., Aug. 22.

This investigation began on June 19 when Peoria Police officers responded to a business located in the 8000 block of West Bell Road in reference a stolen cell phone. Detectives conducted several interviews and obtained video. The surveillance video shows Gonzalez recording a juvenile female inside a store with his own cell phone. As they were exiting, Gonzalez approached the juvenile female who was actively using her phone. Gonzales went up to her and forcibly grabbed her phone out of her hands, police said. The cell phone was still in “unlocked” status, giving him full access to all her applications, videos, photographs, etc. Gonzalez ran out of the store and left the area in a black Toyota Corolla.

Detectives were notified of an additional call regarding a stolen cell phone of another juvenile female from the same location listed above. After reviewing the video and comparing photographs from the other incident, detectives identified Gonzalez as being involved with this case. During this incident, Gonzalez followed the juvenile female through the store and again took her cell phone from her. This cell phone was also in unlocked status. Gonzalez ran out of the store and left the area in the same black Toyota Corolla, police said.

Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident. He was processed at the Peoria Police Department and later booked on several felony charges into the Maricopa County Intake and Release. Charges may be added or amended as this is an ongoing investigation.

During this investigation, a search warrant was conducted at Gonzalez’s residence, which located the clothing items he was wearing during these incidents. The stolen cell phones were not located.

Peoria Police are encouraging those with any information regarding these cases or any additional victims to contact Detective Hebard at 623-773-8992.
