Peoria Police investigating a spree of business burglaries

Peoria Police are investigating a series of crimes and asking for the public's help, according to a news release.

Peoria Police officers responded to a suspicious circumstance at a business about 1:30 a.m., Sept. 5, in the 12200 block of North 83rd Avenue.

The reporting party observed an unidentified male walking away from a nearby closed business. When officers arrived on scene, they found a windowpane that was removed from the front of the business. Officers made several announcements and contacted two victims inside the business who informed them they were recently robbed.

During the investigation, a robbery call for service came in for a business near the 9000 block of North 89th Avenue. Peoria officers arrived on scene and observed the same method of entry was completed with a windowpane sitting outside the business. One victim was found inside this business.

Police immediately noticed a pattern and went to other similar businesses within the city limits. They found two additional business burglaries  near the 13800 block of North 75th Avenue and the 10600 block of North 91st Avenue. These businesses had similarities with windowpanes being removed, the release said.

There were no victims at either locations.

Police said they appreciate the reporting party contacting the department about this.

"With incidents like these, we want to remind our residents: 'if you see something, say something.' If something does not seem right or is out of place, please contact the Peoria Police Department so we can ensure our community is safe," the release said.

During this crime spree, no victims were injured.
