A nonprofit that has funded more than 80 building projects for orphanages around the world will bring its 15th anniversary celebration to Peoria.

Since 2007, 200 Orphanages Worldwide projects have provided safety, shelter and sustainability for U.S.-based nonprofits supporting international orphan care in countries like Tanzania, Haiti, Kenya, Mexico, and more.

To commemorate its anniversary, the fundraising event Big Bucks for Buckaroos! will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at Arizona Broadway Theatre, 7701 W. Paradise Lane.

Founder and Executive Director Jan Hanson began the organization to be a conduit for donors and volunteers who want to help orphans but lack opportunity, a press release explains.

“We identify and approve projects, raise funds and provide progress reports ensuring that funds are used as designated and that the project is completed,” Wickenburg resident Hanson stated. “We plan to expand our base here in Arizona.”

Big Bucks for Buckaroos! will feature live music by Holly Jo, line dancing, live auctioneer Rob Jundt, and an on-site silent auction. A barbecue dinner and cash bar will be available for all ticketed guests.

Tickets are $75 per person or $60 for two or more tickets. A table of eight is $480.

All donations made at the event and through ticket sales will directly benefit projects that provide safety, shelter and sustainability for orphaned children around the world.
