Old Town Scottsdale celebrates 64 years of Pony Express ride
Posted
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests are invited to the annual Pony Express ride in Old Town Scottsdale that culminates on the steps of the Museum of the West, 3830 N. Marshall Way.
Delivering more than 20,000 pieces of U.S. mail, according to a press release, the traditional event begins with fanfare surrounding the arrival of entertainment.
Some of the entertainment includes such things as live music, line dancers, Native American hoop dancers, and children’s activities, food trucks, a presentation about the Hashknife history and more at 10 a.m., inside the museum.
The arrival of the Hashknife Pony Express — the oldest officially sanctioned Pony Express in the world — takes place at “high noon,” the release said, adding museum admission is free all day.
