After Arizona Department of Transportation project crews take their traditional time off during the busy travel of Labor Day weekend, things ramp up again in Chandler and Gilbert on the weekends ahead.
Westbound Loop 202 -- the Santan Freeway -- is where closures are planned between Williams Field and Gilbert roads. Allow extra time while the following closures are in place as part of the 30-month Loop 101 to Val Vista Drive widening project:
• Westbound Loop 202 will be closed from Williams Field Road to Gilbert Road, 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Higley Road also will be closed.
DETOUR: Motorists traveling west on Loop 202 may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using southbound Higley Road to Germann Rd or westbound Williams Field Road to Gilbert Road.
The weekend of Sept. 13-16, the westbound 202 will be closed from Gilbert Road to Arizona Avenue, 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16.
The following ramps also will be closed that weekend.:
• The westbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Lindsay Road, • Val Vista Drive and Santan Village Parkway.
DETOUR: Motorists traveling west on Loop 202 may consider exiting ahead of the closure and use Pecos or Germann roads.
