The number of new weekly coronavirus cases reported in Goodyear’s 85338 and 85395 ZIP codes rose by eight during the week ending Friday, April 2, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported.
That brings the total number of cases reported in the community to 11,152.
Numbers in each ZIP code rose from 11,144 to 11,163 from March 26 to 29, then stayed the same through April 1, before dropping to 11,152 on April 2.

ADHS Public Information Officer Holly Poynter said in September that fluctuating numbers are not uncommon.
“Cases are assigned based on the primary residence address for an individual patient. Address information can be updated throughout a case investigation,” she said. “Sometimes this won't be identified until later in an investigation because the ‘home address’ is often used on things like insurance, which may filter down to the lab report.”
On April 1, she said while it may not look like numbers are being updated on the state's daily ZIP code map, “please keep in mind there may not be variation in each ZIP code every day.”
The agency said more than 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient’s residence:

As of March 31, 1,876,301 doses had been administered in Maricopa County. Of those, 1,138,923 were first dose and 730,329 were second dose and 7,049 were unknown.
In Goodyear 85395, 50.5% of the eligible population had received their first dose and 37.3% had received their second dose. In Goodyear 85338, 39.1% of the eligible population had received their first dose and 24.3% had received their second dose.
As of March 24, all residents ages 18 and older became eligible for the two-dose Moderna and one-dose Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccines, and all residents 16 and older became eligible for the two-dose Pfizer vaccine.

Fatality rate per 100,000 people: 221.39 (220.48 last Friday)
Number of diagnostic tests conducted: 5,108,134 (5,016,831 last Friday); 17,443 new from the previous day (16,111 last Friday)
Test positivity: 11.3% (11.4% last Friday)
