Motorcyclist crashes into parked cars on Cave Creek Road, dies at hospital

A 24-year-old man is dead following a collision Friday along the 9400 block of North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix police said.

The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. Aug. 2, and Phoenix police officers responded to find Nathan Castro with serious injuries. He died later at a hospital, police said.

Detectives investigated, and preliminary information suggests the motorcycle that Castro was operating was speeding as it headed north on North Cave Creek Road. He was unable to control the motorcycle while on a curve, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

The motorcycle left the road on the east side and collided with several parked cars, police said.

An investigation is continuing.
