A Mega Millions ticket is worth $20,000 to the buyer who purchased it in Tempe, but the big jackpot remains elusive.

The $20,000 ticket for the Aug. 27 Mega Millions drawing was sold at the Circle K, 119 W. University Drive in Tempe, according to the Arizona Lottery.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday night, and the estimated jackpot is $627 million, the ninth largest Mega Millions jackpot in the game’s history, lottery officials said.
