Marcus King announces Phoenix tour stop, new album

Grammy-nominated Marcus King is bringing his tour to Phoenix.

The South Carolina musician will take the stage on May 15 at The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St.

In between packing venues on his own, King has performed alongside Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathanial Rateliff in addition to playing Stagecoach. He has been open about his challenges with mental health in his songs and throughout his career, and has launched various mental health initiatives, most recently a guitar auction collaboration with MusiCares.

General ticket sales start at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at LiveNation.com.

King’s new album, “Mood Swings,” produced by Rick Rubin, comes out  April 5 via American/Republic Records.
