The Maricopa County Medical Examiner has ruled 16-year-old Preston Lord's death a homicide.
Lord was severely beaten during a house party in Queen Creek on Oct. 28. He died of his injuries two days later.
On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner completed its report on Lord "and specified the manner of death as homicide," according to a statement from Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice.
"The medical examiner’s report is an important component of the investigative process," Brice stated. "The findings are consistent with our investigation and support the charges submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO). The MCAO now has that report as they continue to review the charges submitted by QCPD related to the homicide of Preston Lord."
