Motorists traveling the Loop 202 Santan Freeway at night in the Gilbert area should plan for lane restrictions and closures of off-ramps at Gilbert Road and Val Vista Drive for work on the future Lindsay Road interchange.
The Arizona Department of Transportation urges drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are in place:
ADOT, in partnership with the town of Gilbert, is constructing a new interchange on the Loop 202 Santan Freeway at Lindsay Road. The interchange will provide direct freeway access to Gilbert’s central business district and surrounding residential and commercial development, according to a release.
The interchange will improve traffic flow in the area by widening Lindsay Road and reducing traffic congestion at the existing interchanges at Gilbert Road and Val Vista Drive. The completed project will also accommodate future general purpose lane widening of the Santan Freeway.
Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
