JAAM Classic 360 Golf Tournament at TPC Scottsdale raises $125K for Ability 360 programs

Posted

More than 125 golfers gave TPC Scottsdale a test run just ahead of the recently held WM Phoenix Open raising more than $125,000 to support youth adaptive sports at the Phoenix-based Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center.

Sponsored by JAAM Foundation, a collaborative partner with Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center to provide adaptive sports equipment to junior athletes in the Phoenix area, the tournament returned to the links after a one-year hiatus during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a press release.

“Our mission is to help junior athletes obtain the specialized equipment they need to participate in sports, and the JAAM Classic 360 Golf Tournament is a major contributor to those efforts,” said JAAM Foundation co-founder, and Executive Director, Liz Williams.

“Making sure that equipment is available eliminates a major barrier for so many kids with disabilities who want to play sports. We’re incredibly honored to join with Ability360 to give them those opportunities, and we’re very grateful to the golfers who supported our mission.”

Ability360 Development Director Meghan Fable echoed a similar sentiment.
“The reaction to watching kids who never thought they’d be able to play basketball, soccer, rugby, tennis or any sport, and seeing their sheer joy is very hard to put into words,” said Ability360 Development Director Meghan Fable.

“Having the right equipment for these kids is life-changing, not just for them but for their entire family. Our sincere thanks to the participating golfers and to the JAAM Foundation for making this possible”

The tournament played under clear skies and 70-degree temperatures was a first-hand preview of the WM Phoenix Open, which brought the world’s best golfers to the Valley this past week.
