Female entrepreneur and advocate Heather Lennon is partnering with other local females to present WomenPHX’24.

The free educational event will provide a day of open discussions and workshops on entrepreneurship, business operations, wellness, and social giveback for Phoenix area women, according to a press release. The event also serves as a fundraiser to help support women in the community.

The event was  initially scheduled for March of this year, but organizers announced Jan. 26 that the event will be postponed until 2025.

The inaugural WomenPHX’24 kicks off Women’s History Month 2024 and raises money for Dress for Success Phoenix, a nonprofit which empowers women to achieve economic independence with support, attire and development tools for work and life.

WomenPHX’24 will go from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 2. Fairytale Brownies’ co-founder and president Eileen Spitalny will co-host the event at her bakery, 4610 E. Cotton Center Blvd., in Phoenix.

During the event, women can participate in multiple workshops designed to help them further develop and enhance their business skills, interests, wellness and beyond.

“I believe strongly that we as a community, as women and as people, rise together,” Lennon, who helped develop the concept of WomenPHX’24 in collaboration with other Phoenix community leaders and entrepreneurs, shared in a press release. “I am honored to work with so many brilliant, passionate women who also want to see others rise — and who create opportunities to help them do so.”

Founding members include female leadership from the city of Phoenix Sister Cities, Cloth & Flame, Dress for Success, Fairytale Brownies, Knife&Fork Media, Plant.Body.Soul, Mise en Scene Events and Raconteuse Cigars.

Committee members of the event are all leaders or staff of female-driven or female-owned organizations. WomenPHX ’24 is the inaugural event and raises funds for Dress for Success Phoenix.

Special guests Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and District 8 Councilperson Kesha Hedge Washington will be in attendance. Mayor Gallego is the second elected female mayor in Phoenix history and one of the youngest big city mayors in the country. District 8 Councilperson Washington is the first African American woman to be elected to the Phoenix City Council.

Admission is free; reservations are required.
