Here’s how Labor Day will affect Glendale offices, services

The city of Glendale has announced how Labor Day will affect city hours and services.

Municipal offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 5.

All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection services will take place as usual on all regularly scheduled collection days throughout the holiday week. The Glendale Municipal Landfill and the Solid Waste customer service office will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of the holiday.

ADA service will be available and based on a holiday fixed-route schedule. Dial-A-Ride reservations for Labor Day must be made by noon, Friday, Sept. 1. There will be no GUS service Monday, Sept. 4. Valley Metro bus and rail will operate on Sunday schedules on Sept. 4. There will be no Express or RAPID service on Monday, Sept. 4 and Valley Metro Customer Service will be closed.

The Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open during the holiday. However, the airport’s administrative office will be closed.

Glendale public libraries will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, along with the Visit Glendale offices. All Glendale library branches and the Visit Glendale office will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The splash pads at Heroes Regional Park, O’Neil, Sycamore Grove and Sunset Palms Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., however, this is the last weekend the splash pads are open.

The Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 4. The Glendale Community Center, Glendale Adult Center, Rose Lane Community Center and the O’Neil Recreation Center will also be closed Sept. 4 and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 5. Call 623-930-2820.
