Celebrate Grandparent’s Day by attending Valley events throughout the weekend with activities for both grandparents and grandchildren to spend some time together and have some fun.
ASU will be hosting the “Grandparents Breakfast with Sparky” on Saturday.
Sun Devil grandparents are invited to bring the family 9-10 a.m. Sept. 9 at Old Main, 400 E. Tyler Mall, Tempe.
This will include a chance to enjoy a DIY waffle bar, capture family photos, and hangout with Sparky the Sun Devil.
Sun Devil Generations members: Child ticket $10, Adult ticket $15
Non-members: Child ticket $15, Adult ticket $20
All children 3 and under attend for free.
Duet, a nonprofit interfaith organization in Phoenix, is hosting a free art day, with provided supplies and lunch. The organization also will be showing a movie after the art project is completed.
The event is free for children 5 and older with reservations required. This event runs noon-4 p.m. Saturday at 10000 N. 31st Ave., Suite D200 in Phoenix.
Park Terrance Senior Living will host a “Grandparent’s Day Bash” 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Phoenix location, 2577 W. Greenway Road. Sunday tickets are free and will include brunch, crafts, musical puppeteer, dinner and indoor bowling.
UnitedHealthcare will host its fourth annual Grandparents Day event 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Community Health Center at Golden Gate Campus, 1625 N. 39th Ave., Phoenix.
Local community organizations will attend and provide basic wellness checks and free haircuts for kids, as well as social services information. Families can enjoy face painting, live mariachi music and folklórico dances, a DJ, photo booth, and raffle giveaways.
Families will leave with fresh produce and grandparents will receive “senior food boxes” containing healthy foods for home.
The city of Chandler will host its celebration starting at 9 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Chandler Senior Center, 202 E. Boston St. The event is free for everyone.
Activities will include snacks and drinks at 9 a.m. followed by card making, bird house making, petting zoo, and face painting, musical bingo and a magic show.
Registration for this is limited and required for this event.
You won’t want to miss any of these fun events perfect for the whole family.
